Cleaning at the American Cemetery — Elizabeth Otey

July 8, 2010

I did some grave cleaning at the American Cemetery on Sunday, June 27. I took some pictures as I went through the stages of the cleaning process. I wet down the grave with water and cleaned it with the D/2 cleaning solution.

Before cleaning it was very difficult to read the inscription at all. I now can read the following:

SACRED
to the memory of
Elizabeth Otey
Infant daughter of
Edward B.
& Mary L. Cook
born April 8, 1850
died Sept. 25, 1850

Of such is the kingdom of heaven
